" The question is not "Do you understand the subject?" but rather, "Now that you understand the subject, what does it mean to you?" "How does it impact your life?"
Aryeh Ben David, Becoming A Soulful Educator
The words we use to describe our world become the creative material for transformation and understanding.
Each letter contains the light of infinite energy and the meaning of the universe. As we choose our words, we select our creation.
When you think about this in connection with children's education and our relationship with each other, your words begin to hold a density- the density of creation, light, and possibility.

In life, we create the framework of our interactions with words. I have been thinking about the word "authentic." This word describes the genuine article, the pure representation of an idea- integrity at the foundation. I wonder if this powerful word can be used to separate and tear down ideas while changing and transforming an idea. Could it be the anchor thrown off the boat to ensure that change is not successful in keeping our framework secure in the arms of sameness?
As an artist and an educator, my core is to question, wonder, and look for new pathways. I look at the wholeness of integrity as constantly striving for a higher perfection that may seem less pure yet more whole in the end as ideas fill the space of change.
How will the child learn that change is normal and healthy if we are afraid to stretch the boundaries or, at the very least, entertain the possibility that purity is not the benchmark for an authentic practice, a way of bringing the pieces of light back to its source?
What do you think?
My best, Gina
