The first artist that captured my attention and admiration was Georgia O'Keeffe. I love the colors and her simple expression that dig deep into her love for nature and personal expression. I have been to New Mexico many times; each trip gives me a deeper understanding of the lure of the land and the idea of enchantment. There is something magical about the light, sand, and interplay of colors in the desert and mountains. Watching the sunrise or setting over the Sandia Mountains is a bath of color that fills your heart. Georgia inspires me to get to the core of my painted messages and simplify the beauty I see in the universe.
